A while back last year there was a thread asking about how effective these medicinal oils might be for sore muscles and joints that affect many of us while dirt fishing.

I wanted to share my experience with it as it might help others in need..

I have been taking cannabis based (without THC) oils for a while now since last year for medical issues. One of the side effect of these oils very effective joint pain relief. I am unable to take the usual remedies due to the medical condition so had to suffer until starting the oils.

My recent trip to Florida meant I could not take these oils across the border from Canada to the USA. It took about a week before I started to feel the joints aching. After my return to Canada, I resumed my regiment of oils, and sure enough, now pain free in the joints. For me, that's enough proof for me that they do work! Sunny warm(ish) Florida should be good for the joints but not this time..

I remember late last fall that my swinging arm never hurt when I was out all day, but just less then an hour on the Florida beaches without the oils, my arm wouldn't last long.

If it's available in your area (some states permit it), try the cannabis variety without THC (the part of cannabis that makes you high) and within the week you should start feeling some relief. For some people with skin conditions, it also helps to clear it up. I used to have psoriasis on the elbows but that's all but gone now as well.. it started to come back while in Florida, and now gone again...

Amazing post! My wife had talked to an elderly gentleman that suffered from osteoarthritis and he swears by the CBD oil for the reasons you’ve stated.
I suffer from joint pain from Osteoarthritis and she believes it will help me too. Some nights I get so little sleep because of the pain and it seems it’s gettimg worse.
It’s getting to the point of searing pain on each side of my thighs as I try to stand up from a seated position.
I might give in and try this medicinal method for relief.
Thanks for posting this as it has inspired me to give it a try. Best of luck!

Being from Colorado, I have access to a wide variety of CBD products. I couldn't use them until I had retired from school teaching due to drug testing and I can't take normal pain meds due to allergies, for my bad back and arthritis.

The CBD oils that I use (99% THC free) have made it possible for me to coin and jewelry detect up to 4 hours per day without experiencing any major joint pain.
I can also prospect with a detector all day for multiple days, do sniping, sluicing and high banking for gold and do a lot of the activities that I enjoyed in my younger years.

These oils have also helped me keep a more positive attitude towards my hobbies and life in general. I use the under the tongue oils and a topical salve joint formula that is rubbed into the sore area. They work very gently and last for up to 12 hours per dose.

I was pretty sure it was the THC, that causes the drug test to turn positive from cannabis. Is that not true?

CBD from medicinal hemp

We have some farmers in the area starting to grow medicinal hemp in their greenhouses. Usually, these are tobacco growers who have some extra space due to being cut back in their allotted tobacco quota I guess.

The crop is being heavily monitored for CBD and THC content. Too much of one and the crop is condemned - from what I understand.

Spoke with a farmer yesterday about it. He has been using it with great effect on joint pain AND seemingly lowered cholesterol (simply an observation on his part.)

He also spoke of tests of using CBD on infants suffering from grand mal seizures.

One story involved an elderly man with Parkinsons. He went into the greenhouse of his son and helped him with the plants (be it pulling leaves or harvesting buds, I don't know, but it involved handling the plants with his hands) and within 15 minutes, found out that his shakes were completely gone......

Hi Big Treble
I think you are correct about the THC content and drug testing. I did not want to take any chances even with 1% THC content taken internally. Many of the topical products have 3% to 5% THC. So it is possible that a drug test could have been positive.

Check with your health care professional, as over here they can prescribe a day dose (no THC) and a night dose (with THC) of two different varieties which keeps you sober daytime and then helps you sleep at night..

Best of luck.

I'm glad it worked for you. I tried it for my problems with out any relief.

CBD along with something called KRATOM... Instant pain relief. Havent been to the pain doc. in years and it wasnt until I got shot that I even NEEDED a pain pill.

My Daughter is a Herbalist Specialist at a large herb/unguent chain...She knows a lot...She says that a whole load of the modern market with the CBD oils sold today is total BS....like 80% of them are nothing but olive oil with no curative powers at all and people are getting ripped off...

She gave me a little tube of the real McCoy to use on some re-curing skin cancer...and yes, it worked...

For any benefit, you gotta get the real stuff...the marketplace is snake oil season all over again...

Its just herbs curative powers, Humans have been using healing herbs for millennia..like the willow cambia for aspirin....this one
CBD is gonna get wheels, and it will be Nestle or Purdue Pharma or somesuch making the pay....

In the meantime, lots of rip off artists are bottling olive oil and grass clippings nonsense and selling it as 'CBD' to sufferers...

How does one know if it’s the real deal or just a fake? Is there tests or a testing kit?

Well I guess there is a test kit. This one is around $50.

i use cbd for my neck and my back.I had back surgery in December 2016. After 3 months and the doctor making me go back to work the pain got worse and worse. In April he had me get an mri. Everything in my back was inflamed. He tryed different pills for 4 months and it got worse. He discharged me in November. In January i saw another surgeon. In March they saw i had a major infection. I was admitted to the hospital the next day with ivs put in when i got there. After 8 days i could walk again and discharged with a pic line and 60 days of more ivs. Luckily i had family in the cbd business. I was put on 3 different cbd pills during the period i was in all the pain. I wouldnt have made it through till they found out what was going on. The cbd i use is from hemp. It is 99.9 percent cbd and one of 2 companies in the US that permitted for pharmaceutical use. I was just tested at work and nothing showed. If you are using cbd from marijuana it is possable to test positive for thc. I am still on cbd oil everyday and will finally be able to detect this year.

Luckily, you had a family member in the CBD business...giving you the real deal...

I had to go to a special clinic before being prescribed the CBD oils etc.. this was not long before legalization here in Canada. In short, one would hope, that if it hasn't got a government stamp on it, you're on your own as to what's actually in it..

The stuff you buy at the gas station (I'd seen some available while driving to Florida last month) isn't more than what the previous poster warns about, simple oil and 'something' in it that isn't effective..

Do your research, speak to professionals, don't take anything at face value.

Best of luck

So i was prescribed MASS amounts of opiates, due to an injury I got while in the Army. I hurt my back pretty good and ultimately ended up out of the Army and hooked on pain killers. As the usual story goes, I ended up way hooked and so began a long long love affair with opiates that took me every ounce of will power to get away from. NATURAL remedies such as CBD, THC, and things like that helped wonders but one supplement I to this day owe my life to is kratom. Its an hebal supplement that acts as a pain killer, same receptors in the brain that opiates hit. Much like CBD, there is no high or anything at all associated with it. Kratom is hands down the BEST pain killer I ever came across. Things like CBD tend to help more with the mental health issues I still have, anxiety and such but Kratom is kind of an all around winner for me. I recoomend it to ANYONE who is considering looking for pain relief without running the risk of being horrifically addicted to opiates.

If youre interested in alternative pain killers other than having a prescitption pad thrown at you, look into kratom AND CBD.

Thanks!
I did find one that does fit the bill and highly recommended and have already tried it. Although I took a higher dose than was suggested. All I can say is wow! I finally got a deep, good nights sleep for the first time in over a decade.
This was an 18:1 mix of CBD and a lower dose of THC. Made from the flower tops, not hemp seed and no pesticides and organically grown.
On my next order I will try the 1:1 CBD/THC. For nighttime use.
My experience is that after taking it I did not feel high but more of a natural feeling like when I was a bit younger. Best of luck!
