I'm from Carmi area but make my way down all around your area a bit. There's an old fairgrounds in metropolis I've been trying to pinpoint for years. It only appeared on one 1870s map. Looks to be farm or grassland now but those old hand drawn maps are usually off by quite bit and would take a lot of footwork. Feel free to DM me and stop by the shop sometime.
