Went to an old shack a week ago for two hours and dug a bunch of trash with the stock coil on the AT Pro. I managed to pull a couple of old buttons but no coins. Tonight was a whole different story! I put the 5x8 coil on and worked around the old building for 2 hours.
I managed to find another Springfield Traction Company cuff button, a 3 ringer, a 1910 wheat and my very first 3 cent coin, an 1868! Never thought I would find one of those. It rang in at 49 and 50 pretty steady. I figured it was another old lead nail cover and just about walked away from it but it was shallow so I thought what the heck I'll dig it just to get it out of my way. The first thing I saw was the wreath and I thought that it was an Indian head but why on earth did it ring in at 50? Then I saw the III and was like holy !!!!.
Also found a token that I can't find much info on and I think a drawer handle of some sort.
Was a much better hunt tonight. Glad I decided to go back because I almost wrote that place off as trashville.
Thanks for looking.
