Do metal detectors increase cell phone reception?

I normally get about 5 calls and maybe 15 texts a day. Went out this morning and within 1 hour I got 5 calls and at least 20 texts. 2 of them were group texts. Darn phone was buzzing more then the machine.
Does anybody else experience this phenomena?

It's because you don't want it to ring, so it does. And don't worry, you aren't the only one.

Yeah everyone senses when you are enjoying yourself and decides to call and bug you.

I just leave it in the car, swinging time is my time. In fact my voice message says "if this is an emergency hang up and dial the police, they deal with emergencies, not me'...
