The last thing I expected to find on a supermoon beach hunt

I decided to take a week off and head to the beach of South Carolina. Might as well go during the supermoon and see if any sand gets moved around. So I spent a couple days detecting with the etrac and attack coil in Pawleys Island. The 15" coil goes deep and of course I was looking for rings and coins. I hit an area and started digging a lot of fishing sinkers. In the middle of all these large sinkers I found this bullet. A nice 3 ringer. Come to find out the island had a lot of civil war history.

This guy found a bullet the same day I did. They gave him a long interview on the 11:00 WPDE news. Maybe I should have told someone about it and got my 15 minutes. He was about 10 miles away.

I hope that some bureaucrat doesn't try to restrict metal detecting since someone found a CW relic there
