Minelab Go-Find Pro app, will it work offline?

If google maps works and shows your location wherever you're planning to go then the ML App should work.

So a guy I saw using the app on Youtube was nice enough to respond to my query, he tried it out and the location part doesn't work when he puts his phone in airplane mode. I sent an email to two different departments at Minelab, one person responded that the location mode would not work without cell phone service and another person responded that they put their phone in airplane mode and tried it out and that the location did not work. When they put their phone back in service the finds were saved but without lat. and long. coordinates.
