Howdy....been a while since I've been out. Went from -30 degree wind chill to 50 degrees in about a 24 hour period this week, so there were a few inches of diggable mud above the frozen dirt...
Bought the Equinox for hitting the iron infested spots in fields where there used to be houses; it seems to work well for that. Today I went to a place I've been many times before. In about 2 hours I only found a few keepers, but two of them are civil war tokens! Sweeeet…. I found one other CW token at this spot, so now I've scored 3 of them there and only one or two Indian Head pennies. I wonder if the old lady who lived there (the 1874 plat map indicates it was owned by "Mrs. So-and-so") had a jar of 'em when the house got demolished or burned...
Anyway, I'll take it! Back to the cold this week so it'll freeze again, but it was nice to have a day out digging in February...
(Anybody have a clue what the "G" Trademark thing might be?? Everything I've dug there is old, I think the house may have been gone by the 1930's.)
