A man I work with has been helping me get permissions. In York Maine. After work I headed over to a beautiful 1800's home. My first 9 holes were as follows
V NICKEL
INDIAN
INDIAN
LARGE CENT
INDIAN
INDIAN
Old brass WEDDING BAND
INDIAN (not pictured. Looks like it was cut on edges with snips)
Engraved SILVER FORK HANDLE( theres no hallmark but its definitely silver. It is hollow for the iron utensil to fit inside. Im not sure how old it is? Anyone know an era that they made these? I may try to see who lived there with the initials C. B. McM.

Ive never dug so many good targets in a row like that.
After that I re-did the area and found a hem weight and one of those tongued buckles (not the tongue part).

It got dark so I had to leave. But all that was in a 20'x20' section. And I have double that left to do.

I'd say the silver handle dates to around the average dates of your coins. Im no expert, but late 1800's would be my guess. Hell of a hunt, congrats!

The poor east coast hunter suffers the unbearable nuisance targets of having to dig numerous IH's, to get to the Large Cent. How could you bear this indignity of having to suffer through all those IH's ? :?: :sissyfight:

Honestly. I dig so many indians I just chuck em in a jar like I used to do with wheat pennies when I first started. I only save out the really nice condition ones. Id trade every large cent and Indian ive dug for a chance at gold coins. Like u guys out west.

Nice! Can’t wait to see the update!

That is some special hunting to dig that many good targets in a row. The only way I could do something like that is to count clad. Hope that your return trip to that site is as productive, even if you got to dig a little trash. Congrats on the Tribe, the Large Cent, the "V" and all the rest. Trapper
