Greg Allman...gone

I live in Savannah. Big candle light vigil tonite in a big park in the middle of the city. He will be sorely missed!

He's not tied to The Whipping Post no more . RIP . He and the band were so much a part of my younger days, cruising the roads, the 8 track cranked up late at night , there's memories there for sure. My first real date was taken to the Allman Brothers concert back in the mid 70s. 6 dollars a ticket , and worth every penny of it. I've still have the ticket stub to this day. The one thing about these guys is , they will live on forever in their music.

Yeah that was hard to hear. Bought a truck with a 8-track and Enlightened rouges was on the seat, stuck it in and blew my mind. Heck, Chuck berry gone and Johnie Winter too.

RIP Gregg! :(

I didn't realize his talent till i saw a youtube of him singing and playing acoustic. I think it was Come and go blues but cant find it now. It wasn't the 1981 vid. The one I saw he was in some back stage or a rehearsal in a studio, equipment and cords all around, anyway go bless you Greg for your real American soul.

I honed my drumming style like Butch Trucks. In Memory of Elizabeth Reed and Mountain Jam were two of my favorite jams.

ABB was one of my major influences.Great band.
