I am thinking about getting one for small mountain rivers and streams some in areas with gold. There are swimming holes and fishing spots that look like good areas to search. Anyone use one and would they be good in gold panning areas?

I've used mine for several years to locate small targets in my sifter and have been very pleased with it for that purpose.

I don't know how well it might react to small gold in water, but a nugget of any size will surely be no problem!!
