I’ve seen it before,and I’m sure I’ll see it again.And it’s just what happens.Deja vu I mean.lol.
In 2010 Garrett unveiled and released the at pro.All purpose waterproof machine.People were swearing it was the best machine going, compared it to the Etrac thousands of times. So many swore it was the best machine out, better than not just the Etrac but the F75ltd2,v3i,Yada yada .
What the at pro is ,is a multi purpose machine.Good at a lot of things but not really excelling at one thing in particular when compared to other high end machines made to excell at one thing.
Not as good as the Etrac on old coins, not as deep as a F75ltd2 for old relics,Not as much information as to what’s in the ground as a v3i.
Now comes the equinox, deja vu...Good enough Machine,no doubt and I have the 600 along with the at pro.But the equinox is a all purpose waterproof machine as well.Good at a lot of things but don’t excell at one thing in general like a high end machine.
So the at pro was debated for years against the Etrac, and now the equinox is being compared to the 3030.Apples and oranges comparisons for the at pro vs Etrac and the equinox vs the 3030...Etrac and the 3030 are high priced high end machines that excell at one thing like no other, deep old coins.Equinox and at pro are jack of all trade machines, good at a little bit of everything but excell at nothing compared to a machine dedicated to one thing.
METAL detectorists are always looking for a deeper machine,EXPERIENCED detectorists are looking for new ground and places to hunt.Big difference.Which category do you fall into,Cant have it both ways.
I buy and try a lot of machines, just to try them with no plans on keeping them.I like and use the at pro because it’s my machine of choice no matter what machines I have, the At pro would be the last one going out the door..Not because it’s better because it doesn’t excell at any one thing, but because I prefer it as my MULTI purpose machine. And when a site stops producing I find another site, not find another detector to try to find a few things the at pro missed.
