From Vero Beach to Melbourne, with no intentions on detecting since as we know it is well sanded in with no storms this past summer. Stopped at about a dozen or so beaches and access points along the way- the ones that we read about. I have been to a couple for fishing and beach fun purposes, but not for detecting.

My intention was to familiarize myself with these famous shipwreck beaches, to observe the beach, sand and water conditions, as well as to gaze over the (small) surf and imagine that night of July 30, 1715 when 11 ships loaded with treasure went down, and over 700 people lost their lives in the shallow water locations right in front of me.

As you may know there are 2 treasure museums located in the area. Mel Fisher has a museum of gold and silver which I did not stop at. I did visit the McLarty Treasure Museum which was built on the site of the 1715 Spanish Plate Fleet Survivors' & Salvaging Camp.

It was a gorgeous hot sunny day and I had a fantastic exploratory trip that I will put in the bank.

I did take many photos if anyone is interested, nothing spectacular- just pictures of the beach entrances and of course the beaches themselves if anyone is interested I could be convinced to post them up.

Hope your weekend was well also! HH
