New to MD. What is this and what is it made of?

Hi All,
New to the hobby so I'm not sure how to ID metals yet. Can anyone tell me what this is and what metal it is made from? It doesn't have any holes or bumps where any kind of a post or pin may have been attached. You can see one side of it has a lip where you can tell it was crimped over.

Can't tell you what it is, but I can tell you I'm 90% sure it's made out of brass.

The front is raised design and the back is pressed in designs and also has the lip?

If so, I'm going with a brass button front.
The lip wrapped on to the back of the button which had the shank attached to it.
