Old Headstamp?

I found this headstamp yesterday in my neighbors yard. I think that it is an old one but I'm not sure anyone have any idea of the date?

Yes, it is an old one. In fact is an example of the second line of named shells that UMC made. It will date from 1891-1911 (and probably closer tothe 1911 side due to the fact that it has a star around the primer).

It is a great source of identification. Do take care on some of the date info as there are a couple of mistakes and some of the date ranges are the years the companies were in business not the years that they made shotshells.
