This was found behind old Adirondack Inn. It’s the size of a fist. It doesn’t open. It’s very light- possibly aluminum.

Not sure, but I think that is a float for a water on/off mechanism, like for livestock watering or something. Could be for some kind of old toilet, but doesn't look like that to me.
