I have not found any silver yet, but found this 1862 Victoria penny today! At least I think that is what it is called once I googled. I found this in central NC at an old home site. Anyone have more info?

Nice Vicki! I dug one a couple of years ago at an old park. It was a 1892 but yours is in much better shape. Congratulations.

Generally referred to as a "bun head' or young Victoria penny.

"Victorian Young Head Copper penny coinage (1839 - 1860), the 'Bun' Penny series (1860 1894)"

Thanks. Seemed odd to find it when all of the other coins were modern. Would love to know the journey it took to end up on that farm. My theory is, if there's one, there's more, so I'll be heading back to the spot where I found it!

Congrats on a great finds !

I found the exact same coin last year but yours is in much better condition than the 1867 I found.
