I was going to pick up a Sov Gt used as a second detector.

After doing some research, the recommendations on my previous posts, and based on the hunting that I do I ended up with the following.

Also had a few bucks left that will be going for some accessories..........

Vaquero
Silver Umax
Compadre for my 8 year old
Cleansweep coil for the Silver
10" coil for my excal

Can't wait to get out there and hunt, hopefully this Saturday!

Will try and post some pics later this week!

That is VERY smart. When I first started I was silly to buy one expensive explorer se. Any one of those detector you mentioned will smoke the se. You learn along the way...

Try hunting with that Compadre when your 8 year old is not using it.
This thing is definitely not a toy or made just for kids even though it is priced lower than most...almost like magic in how easy it can find small stuff and chains.

I also have a Vaq and an F2 and really enjoy switching between all my detectors...and now I have the itch to get another one.
I don't think I could ever be happy just hunting with just one type.

They all have their purpose, different tools for different tasks...........

I plan on trying that compadre, heard too much good stuff about it not too:)

I had an F2 as my first detector and sold it when I got the AT Pro. Good detector, but it didn't fit a need.

I wish Tesoro made a Waterproof detector like the PRO in a Umax size.......

I may end up encasing one!
