Lots of rain over here which restricted which fields I could search without my boots being weighed down with mud.

Managed to find a stubble field and a very sandy field which drains very quickly although I got my car stuck trying to get out of the gateway!

Thanks for looking.............Doug.

Finding ancient stuff must make it quite interesting.

Why is it that the engravers of modern coins pretty much make realistic busts of people, but on Roman coins, the people always look like a 9 year old engraved it? Maybe people just looked sillier back then.

Take an Intro to Art Appreciation class, and learn about the evolution of art. Like progress in science, there was a progression in art, too.

Also, remember that Perfection is the enemy of Good Enough! And even back then, the design contract may have gone to the cheapest bidder!

Thank you. In answer to your question, possibly we look at coins through modern eyes and not at those who looked at them 2000 years ago.

You are most welcome.

Doug,

First seal is Russian. :)

Great finds!

Thanks Boris, I assumed it was Russian with the cyrillic letters.

Great finds once again!!!

I saw that "bell system" on Downton Abby! ;):D

Thanks Ron, we normally only find parts of the bell system, first time I have found complete brackets.

It is on my bucket list to travel across the pond to detect. Any Roman coin would make my trip worth while.
