Gold plated jewelry -- what do you do with it?

I found a 18K HGE Gold Plated ring today... it's pretty banged up so it's nothing that can be worn or sold as wearable jewelry. I know gold plated jewelry doesn't have much value in gold... or does it? Do gold buying places buy gold plated stuff (even if it's just a dollar, I don't care!) Or... should I just throw the thing away? What do you guys do with gold plated jewelry?

They will buy if you have about 5 pounds of it... I found that out when I tried to sell about 40 pieces...

I usually give that kind of stuff and other costume jewelry to friends with little girls to play dress up unless its just a mess then it's deep sixed.

I just throw it in the with my junk rings, not worth doing anything with it...

A place by me buys costume jewlery so I sold it there I only got 7 bucks for it but hey its better then what I walked in with

I usually just throw it in with the rest of the junk jewelry and if it's fitting for my daughters I let them play dress up and keep those items.
