Last night and today hit five spots... and I could only find...Just One Thing.
Last night tried my first street tearout. Was there about 45 minutes and found Just One Thing: a nice brass Model T era valve stem cover.
Today, my first field used to hold an 1800's brick house. I filled my pouch with chewed up aluminum cans and got tired of digging them. But I did keep Just One Thing: an old garment clip of some sort with flowers on it.
Moved to a field which a late 1800's map indicated used to have some sort of structure. It was very quiet; I couldn't find any patches of iron. But I did find Just One Thing: a random musket ball.
Moved over to a part of the same field that I've been to many, many times and has given up great things. Today I found Just One Thing: a lead bridle rosette.
(Oh yeah, okay, I found a couple other things....on the way back to the car hit the spot I figured was the front yard....again...and popped two wheat cents and a nice Indian
