I work from home, got tired of looking at the walls. I went outside in my front yard right up against the walk way to the porch, Garrett AT
signaled 81-82. My house was built in 1925. I found my very first
MERCURY DIME!!! 1926
Might not seem like a big deal to me it was amazing!
My very first silver!

Thats a very big deal, A first silver is a great accomplishment. My first was also a merc, 1943. Congratulations on your first of many silvers.

Thanks y’all ! On the lookout for that elusive gold now 😆
My brother lives near Dalton Ga. going on a road trip for the weekend, he has some amazing permissions and just started detecting a couple weeks ago after spending a few days with me. 😁

Congratz on your first merc. And since you're from an east coast state, barbers won't be far behind. Then within a few months, it'll be seateds. Then busts. Within a year, LC's and colonial coppers. Then cobs, etc.... Pretty soon, any cob or gold coin newer than 1750 will bore you to tears !

Congrats on the first silver. I grew up in Dalton, and most of my family still lives there. Some wonderful spots for metal detecting around there. I detected there about 40 years ago and had loads and loads of civil war items. Plenty still out there.

A big congrats on your first Silver !

As most will agree, no matter how long you've been in this hobby, seeing a Merc or any other Silver coin in the hole is always a rush !

Good Hunting !
