I found this civilwar buckle

I was metal decting couple days ago and found this Massachusetts volunteer civil war buckle number 51 cool find the first this found this year in a trashy area!

do you have any links or references to corroborate that it is a Massachusetts buckle ?
 
I can't find anything like it online or in American Military Belt Plates book but would be interested in seeing where you found the information.
 
Then providing a link from the other site should be easy :)

I'm just really curious to see it and can't find it but am interested since I've not see that one before.
 
Something about it just doesn't seem right to me???? I've been wrong before, though. :grin:
 
It doesn't seem to be a "buckle" per se, there is no way of attaching the leather to it or keeping the leather fixed in place.
It may be some type of harness ID or adjustment slide.
Someone will figure it out though. Nice find. :thumbsup:
