Default help posting pictures

Hi guys Iam having trouble posting pictures. When I try to upload from to the "new thread" post it keeps saying invalid file. The pictures are saved on my Mac as an html file and I'am not sure what I am doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

I use photobucket. Its free and so is the app. Just upload to photobucket, then click links and click the [img] link. Auto copies for you. Then just paste it into your thread.
