Nothing real great yesterday. Sinkers, old ship bronze nails and at a different spot dug this large brass piece. After cleaning all the crud off I see it had brass flat head screws and a loop. Lighter for size reference. Probably not super old my first guess is a gate hinge. Any input is appreciated.

I think it is a boat piece of hardware for roppe guidance.

Very possible. The spot is private land. Property ends at water on Tybee. There is the remains of a wood ship on the water line and old ballast stones are everywhere on the bank. Also the property gives up colonial relics to present day. Was a dump as well from the 1930s to around the 70s.

Thanks for the input y'all. Did a little research using y'all's input. Found a few similar ones. Also dug a bunch of CW Enfield lead and found a old black glass bottle. I appreciate you two
