I dug this a few weeks ago. I dug it in an area where I have found other Civil War artifacts. Someone told me it looked like a broken picket pin. Just trying to get a consensus.

That definitely looks like a picket pin to me. The part that is broken off would of come to a point so it could of been stuck in the ground. They were usually about 12 inches in length. That is definitely a great find - congrats :cool:
