Met up with a hunting buddy at a school today for a quick hunt. The school was built in the early 1950s, and up to this point it has produced about a dozen wheaties, but no silvers. I found the 1962D rosie close to the side of the school in bare ground at about 2".
It's hard to argue with silver ! I have fond memories of when I started in the mid 1970s as a 14 or 15 yr. old. And we would go to all the schools blt. in the 1940s and '50s (as that was the side of town I lived in). And they became sort of a "sport unto themselves" to angle for the silver and wheaties
