Yes while it's true the battery on the Equinox last plenty long enough for most folks if you use a outside battery pack you can basically bypass the internal battery and run the machine off the external pack theoretically preserving the internal battery. I have not charged my internal battery in well over a month. Plus I don't have to worry about forgetting to charge the machine.
My backup is very small and is 10,000mAh which is twice the amount of the internal battery. I have it in a small pouch under my arm cuff.
