Bullet Hole?

I found this the other day at the Grade School I thought it to be a button snap until i cleaned it up, 1972D with what looks like a bullet hole!

Yep. I used to shoot coins with a .22. That's just what it looks like.

Coulda been some kid or dad shot it with a .22, and the kid kept it as a souvenier, to show off to his friends..........

I'll confirm that. I did the same using a .22 on a 2p piece. That was in an indoor 25yd range.
I still have the coin somewhere.

Here's a wheatie I found last year. Same M.O. And the hole is right through the date. :mad:

Makes it a more interesting find, tho.
