Snake Boots or Motocross

I've been reading about Snake Boots for woods hunting. It seems like you have to spend top dollar for comfort.

Then I happen to see these motocross boots. They seem like they'd be very comfortable (sneakers on sterroids) and it doesn't look like a fang could penetrate them. Anyone tried these for detecting?

When it comes to snakes, I wouldn't trust they'd bite only where the plastic was.

Why spend almost $200 on motocross boots, when Cabela's has snake boots for half that?

Especially dealing with Eastern Diamondbacks! BTW, any solid leather boot will give you decent protection around the foot area, but your calf and upper leg are more prone to being bit. Snake chaps would be your more economical choice.

Bass Pro Shop has these on sale.
Motocross boots are not flexible, or light enough for detecting.

I have been known to be a bit on the cheap side but there are two things I absolutely refuse to go cheap on. They are shoes and trash bags.

I've never work motocross boots but I see your point. I like the price of the Bass Pro Shop boots you linked but I'd have to get them in a solid color - I'm just not into camo.
