Looks like a hood ornament ??

I dug this thing in my sisters yard this morning. Not sure how old her property is, her deed says 1880 but everything else we can find says 1940-50. It sorta resembles a hood ornament but is thinner than most I can find online. It is made of brass and has a small threaded hole in the bottom between the 2 bumps. If anyone can give any better ID it would be appreciated.

Neat find but I don't think it's a hood ornament.

Definitely a sundial pointer, the tabs go in the base, a screw holds it down.
