Someone told me to use fine steel wool and vinegar to shine up that old buffalo nickel I found last week, so I tried it. Now I know full well that cleaning a coin destroys most the value, but I figured in the condition it was in, it was only worth a nickel anyway. So I shined her up and it didn't come out too bad! Maybe its worth 10 cents now......lol

The steel wool works awesome for otherwise cruddy items, vinegar can do strange things sometimes :) I use "super fine #0000" steel wool.
