So I just had to go back today for one more look.
Thoroughly gridded an area about a third the size of a football field.
Scored a few more coins,A silver pendant,2 silver rings & this 9ct gold dress
ring.
I believe the stone is a Garnet with 6 little diamonds each side.

WOW! nice find! Crazy neat little ring. Sometimes the 9cts are poor looking. Not that one! Beauty!
 
Being Pirates I think all here say that, I just had to go back. And I can see why in your case!! A Beauty!!
 
I am not sure which is more impressive:
Your ability to find gold or your ability to clean it so thoroughly:shock:
