could this be a minting error?

I got this quarter in change today, I've looked up 1974 quarter errors on the internet but haven't found anything. I'm guessing it's not a minting error but I don't know enough about coins to say for sure. The reverse has the same circular indent in the same spot. What do you all think?

No expert here, but sure looks like an error! pretty cool.
 
Looks like one coin being struck and sticking ti the die and then being pressed on to another already struck coin
 
I agree with amc, need better pictures and a reverse shot too. That looks like it could have been done with a simple shop press and something circular to make the indentation
