Default Shootings at Fort Hood

So far there are 9 dead and over a dozen wounded, they arent sure how many shooters there were. Hopefully they find these guys before I get there Monday CNN has the latest coverage. My heart and prayers are out to those killed and wounded in this horrible event.

Looks like "sudden jihad syndrome". Funny how the news media is talking about "post-traumatic stress disorder" when the Major had never been deployed to a war zone. Maybe it was "pre-traumatic stress disorder". If you look on youtube you can see a surveillance video of the Major buying coffee at a convenience store the morning of the shootings. Take note of his civilian clothes (traditional Muslim garb). Video is from CNN, Anderson Cooper. Also strange how he was reported dead at first, then it changed to wounded only. Maybe since he is alive we can find out (or confirm) the motivation for the attack.

I had to switch to Fox to get the up to date coverage, CNN is sorely lacking current information. No wonder they have fallen to the bottom of the cable ratings. Too bad the idiot lived... and too bad we are not allowed to torture. I have no compassion for a traitorous idiot like this. And yes, killing fellow soldiers is treasonous. My fervent wish is that he is in a lot of pain and they deny him drugs. RickO

It`s just a shame, God bless our Fallen soldiers.
To explain it would not give due sympathy to the survivors and families of the injured and fallen.
I do know exactly what caused it but as some know it would take a thousand years to unravel.
Don't read me wrong, I think we just have to stop fighting wars completely, or if attacked do it thoroughly, And I mean Thorough.
But that's not right to some of the world, and god knows we cant do anything without World approval.
I had a huge post here but it was quite a rant and wanting to respect the fallen and not start anything I deleted it, After all this is a friendly forum.
BUT....

The wife and I were "debating" the Jihad and extremists, muslims and whatnot. She perty much shut up when I mentioned Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols. A very sad situation indeed. But there are "nuts" everywhere. Muslims certainly do not have a patent on irrational behavior.

From what we're finding out now, this guy had no business being in the US Army. Should have been booted out years ago. He publicly indicated that his allegiance to his religion meant much more than his allegiance to this country. I hope the Army takes this seriously and weeds out any other characters like this (Muslim or otherwise) or it will happen again. Most of this country is in denial about situation. I have worked with several Muslims who were upper middle class professionals (U.S. citizens), and I never got the impression that they had any loyalty to this country. Maybe not PC, but that's my feeling. McVeigh is an outlier compared to the incidents involving Muslims, the exception to the rule. Of course, some people believe McVeigh had Muslim connections helping him. I'm not convinced of that, but they have never located the "third man" who accompanied McVeigh to the truck rental store.
