Well, I've used my new TRX for about a week now and all I can say is...love it! Sorry I didn't get it last year when they first came out. I set it on full strength (4) and spot my target on top of the ground, and I can then tell how deep it is and what size if plug to dig. Then I hit the button to ratchet down the strength and Bingo, retrieve the item. Had NO trouble getting used to it at all. As for all the concern about only the tip being sensitive - I just wave it around in the plug and if no beep, I do the same in the hole and it's there. I have no complaints about this TRX (I was using a Bullseye II) but adjusting the modes/strength can be dicey till you get the hang of it. Once I set it I don't change it at all.
