I have two items I need help identifying. :?:

The front of the medallion says ?Jefferson National Expansion Memorial? and the back says ?Gateway to the West?Saint Louis?. It is a brass-like material. Any ideas?

The ring looking thing next to it is silver, but I am not a jewelry efficienado. It is kind of triangular in shape, so it is not a ring you would wear on your hand. There must be some reasoning behind the triangular shape.

Sorry about the picture. It's about all I can get out of my digital camera. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

The peace medals I Googled show a different design. I think it's probably either a souvenir from the St. Louis Arch, the ?Jefferson National Expansion Memorial ?is it?s official designation. Or a special medal struck, to commemorate it?s opening.

The ring with a triangular opening may be a scarf slide.

Jeff - Oh baby, if only!!!!!

trobaughokc - I think you may be correct on both accounts. The meddalion is in excellent shape and has no reference to the US Mint. And I was thinking about a tie or scarf "slide" but I've never seen one.

Thanks to you both!
