I found these today at an old farm....anybody know what the non-coin thing is? It reads "W&S Little Giant Pat. Jan.7.79"

Okay...after exhaustive googling I figured it out..... it's a Wallace & Sons wick adjuster for a Little Giant kerosene lamp! Answered my own question..

So, maybe you can help me out with this hunk of iron?

I can't quite make out the numbers on it, but it's definitely a hunk of iron...

Are you sure its not the fuel cap.
Looks odd to be a wick wheel.

you have a point, it does look like a fuel cap....but it isn't threaded

It looks like maybe one side of your iron chunk says "NO.7B"? Possibly dusting them with flour and wiping off the excess would bring out the letters/numbers... I've been impressed with the results that can have (learned it here!)
