How to Convert Hornet Killer B's to Single Ear Cup

I have a broken yoke on one ear cup of my Killer B's (Hornet model) and instead of ordering the repair part I'm considering making it a one ear cup system.

Can I just cut the wires to the other cup or is there more to it than that?

The yellow button allows me to hear or cut off both speakers and I'm not sure what the black button is.

I broke that exact same piece and of course it had to be on my Stingers (1-cup). I called the place where they're made and under warranty, the guy charged me for a replacement piece.

Would you mind popping the ear cup pad off and taking a picture of the wiring and posting it so I can see how it is wired.
