Scouted some curb strips and hit a park Saturday morning. Popped a few wheats small 1g silver ring and usual clad. 95% of all areas have been pounded so limited targets. Even strips deep in the hood. Pulled a shell "famous facts and faces" token(Alexander Graham Bell) from 60's earlier in the morning. Then a hit around 6-8" VDI in silver range but not as crisp as silver. Out pops a big aluminum token. Guessing silver hunters passed on it. Once home cleaned it to see date 1934. Is a Union Pacific "Lucky Piece" They were handed out to promote new trains with bodies made from aluminum. Fun piece of history. I like finding items like this better than a rosie sometimes. Researching and learning the history is part of the reward.
