Great finds

Those are some great finds - only wish I could help ID the buckle. It looks similar to the sons of veterans buckle with regards to the two soldiers and eagle but that one has no wreath and is much different

Nice finds!! That button seems to be a Federal General Service button from around 1840 to 1860 . I just found a half of one the other day. Yours is in great shape!!

nah all those don't have the ring around the button.this button was a 3 piece button this appears to be an officers staff button.thnaks for the link though.those general service buttons are all 2 piece ones.i have dug a few 2 piece general service buttons in the past

Oh ok. I see the difference now.:dash2::dash2: BTW, how old do you think that bottle is?

Great relics and pics

The web is very cool! The plate is the bomb! When your digging these holes what #'s do you look for or dig. Or do you dig everything? Someday I hope to get the chance to hunt a cellar hole. Great stuff Dave!

is it military? It almost looks like fireman with crossed ladders?
not firemen.the figure on the right is an indian holding a bow.i was just informed it's a NYC police belt buckle circa 1875 :(

:shock: That's incredible. I bet that buckle is worth quite a bit. That's an amazing piece of history. That bottle is also super cool.
