Hello, I’m Rick. I have been interested in metal detectors since I was young. While growing up in Northern Minnesota, we lived on a river that had an old homestead beside our property. I use to walk the shoreline of the river and find old bottles, porcelain, arrowheads and other old stuff. My favorite find was a bottle that was blue/green and had “Dr Kilmore’s Swamp Root kidney and Liver remedy” embossed in the glass. When I moved to Alaska my parents donated all my finds to the local museum. I miss the days of searching and have always wanted a metal detector. I will be following along here and look forward to learning from those of you that have been detecting. Thanks for having me.
 
Usually May thru October for the area around Anchorage, I would say is detectable.
