Maybe...He says someone named Carl confirmed this. (Rusty?)
We will find out soon enough if this is true.

Hmm... I'm not really surprised..and as a loyal tejon user I am bummed..no more warranty...

I don't like hobo nickels generally.. but your logo is the coolest one I've ever seen..

I hope Tesoro can bounce back...

Still not convinced but little clues keep popping up.
On Tnet someone called MRS GOLD posted and said they called Vince and asked him about sending in a Sandshark.

"Just talked with vince a minute ago about a Tesero Sand Shark my husband has had box up for awhile to be sent off for repair. He said we should send it off right away and maybe they might have time to get to it , but it didn't sound good! If not it would just be sent back. who knows probably at our expense? so much for warranty."

Not sure there will be any bouncing back...not by Vince, anyway.

That avatar is a combination of one of the coolest targets we could ever be lucky enough to find, a carved nickel, and a vaping coil.
"Loyal to the Coil"...that can go both ways so when I saw it I adopted it.
I got Vape stuff, would love to find an authentic carved hobo nickel one day.

Can't a class action lawsuit be brought to them if they try to void their lifetime warranty?

I mean I just brought another Tesoro machine a few months ago just for the lifetime warranty. Other wise I would just quit metal detecting every time a detector breaks I'm not buying a new one.

A lawyer would never take it. You can't squeeze a glass of juice out of dehydrated apples.

IF, and I mean "IF" they close the doors, there would be no one left to sue.

Hereís to hoping itís not true but canít say honestly that itís a surprise. I just donít see many of their machines being sold after the frenzy of the Mojave settled down. I love mine and itís the only Tesoro I purchased new!

Just did an online search and found this post on another forum:

(quote)
I spoke with a Tesoro Representative in Arizona.

He confirmed a mass layoff of employees effective today 10/04/18.

That is all they want to confirm at this time.

Default Tesoro

I have 3 Tesoros that I've used for 20 yrs that just keep on Beepin, if they quit tomorrow I couldnt/wouldn't complain. Some expert detector tech would be able to start a good repair/support business for sure. Given today's politics I would be more concerned with detectors made in Turkey and other 3rd world countries.

I agree. I think the warranty is lifetime because they are so resilient that itís pretty much unnecessary.

You can only race one horse for so long and then you have to get a new one. Old looks and somewhat outdated technology will only become a nostalgic conversation/wall piece. Shame on the owners/leaders of Tesoro for their apparent lack of vision. I hope only for good things to happen in the lives of those who may/will lose their job if this is true.

I agree somewhat as Tesoro is a niche market in 2018.

I sent my compadre in a few days ago because it was making a lot of noise whenever I thumbed the disc knob. Natalie from Tesoro called me yesterday and said they received it. Hope they stay afloat...I like my Tesoros.

A target doesn't know the difference between a new detector and an old detector. Most hunters are measured by their finds, not by detector type or age.

Can't say I'm surprised. I've been a long time Tesoro user, but I read a post awhile back on another forum where a person that would know said there would be changes coming to Tesoro soon. I had a gut feeling and sold off all my Tesoro's but my Tiger shark. Sad day for the metal detecting world.

They've been rehashing the same 1980s technology for 30 years. Without anything new I'm surprised they lasted this long. They were still decent detectors but only falling further out of date.

I guess this means I'll never get that Cazador that was supposed to be released 5 years ago?

sure if you're talking about surface coins.

I sent my Compadre in on 9/21, they got it Monday 9/24. Today I got a UPS email that it is supposed to arrive tomorrow for me. Coil was taking on water, middle shaft cam lock was stripped, and that noise when turning disc knob, not that I would have sent it in for anything save the coil water issue. My non-warranty compadre (second unit) I sealed its coil with truck bed liner and that worked...

Not sure whatís in the box theyíre sending but Iíll find out tomorrow.

Hope they stay in business, hope you get yours taken care of.
