What can you folks tell me about this token?
It rang up like an Indian Head, same size and color....
It is somewhat worn.
On one side it says, redeemed
My choice 1863
Other side says,
Oliver boutwell
(In the center) Miller
Troy N.Y.

That actually reads: REDEEMED AT MY OFFICE 1863.
Google has lots of hits on the token, but I didn't see anything about Oliver Boutwell Miller, except that he is referred to as a merchant.
That is a very nice Civil War era token!

That's awesome! Maybe I am a little more excited than other is because I live in Troy, NY.
When I get a chance I can see if the town library or local historian knows anything about Oliver Boutwell.
N
You find that in Iowa?

That's listed in the RED BOOK of Civil War Tokens as NY-890-B Oliver Boutwell
There are 22 different die varieties...Value listing for all at VF-EF- $20-$30 and MS-63 $50-$75
a very nICE fIND

Yeah, Nora springs, Iowa
I've found a few other civil war relics, time to time, or at least from that period, buttons and bullets....
