Searching on the beach of Barcelo Bavaro, first time detecting abroad...what to expect?

I have detected that beach several times. Water was too rough for me to go in but I did ok in the wet sand. Lots of coins and got 2 gold each trip.

there is an area that you can go on a booze cruise to where is is really calm. water wasn't too bad to detect otherwise. was there in October of 2017
