Easy way to extend your cheap sand scoop

So I have this scoop I got from kellyco years ago for like 10 bucks.
Figured since I will be going to the beach soon, I would need an upgrade.

Well I thought real quick, well I have a broken paint roller stick. So I just took the rubber handle off the scoop, and broken the metal tip off the stick. Hammered the stick into the scoop, put the handle on the stick, and BAM. Upgrade baby!.

I'm not so sure the metal to wood connection will handle any stress you put on it.

Have you tried a stress test?

Yeah did it on the soil in my backyard, just going to use it with my foot, and shake it a little, if it breaks its whatever, only spending a day or two at the beach.
