I printed the manual yesterday and have read through it couple of times so I don't get blindsided or overwhelmed by the technology. I'm studying it in more detail today since everything is frozen up outside.
I will have to use extreme caution and not be detecting when the International Space Station's flight path comes over my house so that I don't accidentally take control of it with the Patriot. From what I read it's that crazy smart.

It's easy as you want it to be, most settings work in most normal situations including out of the box factory settings.
It is when you are not in normal settings where learning to tweak the thing can come in handy and help you notice more.
Stay away from SL speed for now, don't mess with the notch system unless you understand how it works and if you do learn how to do a reset.
Resets can be your best friend to REALLY undo notches, acclimate better in a heavy EMI filled site or correct most any wonky behavior.
Find a tone selection you like and go.

Ignore the advanced stuff for now...plenty of time to get into all that if you even want to, later.

Thank you for sharing this! I'll read each in detail. I'm thinking that I'll use the factory settings for awhile at least until I become more familiar with it.
