my buddy Todd found this on todays hunt.I've never seen this kind of copper dug before.other side is smooth.what country is this from and what time frame?

That's a nice coin. It almost has a Dutch East Indies "VOC" coin look to it. I am waiting to see what it is!

It's definitely the one, and I've found several myself.... all about in the same condition. They don't tend to hold up real well. But at least they are old!

Glad to help, and it was an easy one. I'm every bit as familiar with those as George coppers or anything else easily recognizable. I have a real nice one (non dug) here as a matter of fact.
