"Professor" Irwin Corey, who forged a long career in show business using a talent for "intellectual doublespeak" - comic stream-of-consciousness riffs that went absolutely nowhere - has died. He was 102."

If you were around in the 50's to 70's you knew this guy, "The World's Formost Authority" as he billed himself.
A long career, from Vaudeville to radio to tv, won rave reviews on Broadway at age 87 and he was still doing stand-up at 100 years old.
He was pretty funny I thought, he was on the Ed Sullivan and Jackie Gleason shows, all the talk shows, was in demand at Frier Club roasts, was in many movies and was pretty darn popular.
I don't think anyone was any better at his stream of consciousness intellectual double speak style of comedy...It was zany, confusing and often hilarious...and he looked crazy.

For those that missed him you missed a lot of laughs.

When your IQ rises to 28, sell.

Without this great land of ours, we would all drown"
