That last pic leaves me with so many questions... 5 yrs old? Ummm

i just read something about her story not long ago, she had a rare medical condition that made it possible for her to have kids at that super young age. and indications were that her own father had something to do with it, if you know what i mean (gotta keep it clean here).

thanks for the post Antonenko, really interesting old photos!

Zero Gravity ride

They have those centrifugal force drums at travelling carnivals here sometimes. The one I rode was called Zero Gravity. My cousin made me ride it 5 times in a row and after the fifth time, I (who never gets sick from amusement park rides) felt like I was going to be sick. It didn't happen though. Fun ride and I would go on it again, just not 5 times in a row.

The fellow that the county that I was born in survived a scalping. In 1833 about 4 miles east of present day Austin, TX, surveyor Josiah Wilbarger was scalped and left for dead by Comanche Indians. He managed to crawl to a nearby creek where he cleaned and dressed his wound. Survivors from his surveying party found him the next day when the wife of one of them had a dream that he was alive and sitting under a tree. He died 11 years later after bumping his head on a low beam in a cotton gin.
