Today was my second go-round at a one-room school house that was active from the 1870's until probably the mid 1900's. Still very dry, but there were plenty of signals to keep busy in the couple hours I had there. (Can't wait until the ground gets wet; I imagine lots more will pop...).

A couple more good coins, a 1930's play badge, 1950's play money... I've found several "toe taps" but this is the first one with a patent date on it. The pocket watch pieces were in ash (I presume an old burn pit), and it took quite a while with a brass brush to get the detail to come out. Don't think the tokens are terribly old, but the place isn't open anymore...can't find anything out about it on Google.

Forgot my phone today, so no pictures in the dirt....

Nice finds.
Getting this stuff out of the way while dry cleans the dirt for when it is wet. This will make hearing the deep/small stuff easier.
Good hunting.

Thanks all! Got another school house for next week....was trying to secure permission on an abandoned place today and went to the township hall to inquire as to who owns it...turns out it’s a mortgage company so out of luck, but when I told the clerk why I wanted to know, she said...”oh! There was an old school on our property that we tore down when we built our house”..........and they haven’t worked the dirt but still mow there.....how lucky for me!!
